I remember visiting the Fosbery factory in Barking in the 1980's when I was working for a competitor lifejacket company (R.Perry of Birkenhead) . Both companies used to trade with each other regularly. The Fosbery lifejacket at that time was made with an orange nylon cover and natural kapok was used for the buoyancy replacing cork. I vaguely recall Fosbery factory was owned by a father and daughter but I can't remember their names.
Great website Jerry!
Back in 2020, I saw an ebay listing for a canvas fragment claiming to have come from 4th officer Boxhall's lifebelt. I regretfully passed at the opportunity to purchase and authenticate it.
I enjoyed this account of the lifebelts from the Titanic. Thank you!
